Brides & Cooks
„Brides & Cooks" is a performative installation walk for theatre and/or gallery spaces, which deals with the stories of Vietnamese emigrants in Germany and Taiwan. It is based on conversations with Vietnamese emigrants from different decades in Taiwan and Germany, documented in images, video, sound, movements and (memory) objects. We seek happy moments, but also cruel events, such as the burning dormitories in Rostock, or the trafficking of girls between Vietnam and East Asia. These personal stories serve as an example and background for a larger, global perspective on migration, coexistence and conflict.
„Brides & Cooks“ is part 2 of a choreographic series on identity and plurality, and will be realized in cooperation with Taiwanese, Vietnamese and German partners in the second half of 2019.
